Selected work
Selected work
A few things,
made over time.
Cabinetmaking, architectural joinery and the occasional project that refuses to fit neatly into either category.
Furniture
Freestanding pieces with their own proportions, details and reason for being.
Fitted furniture
Cabinetry made for a particular room, designed to settle naturally into its surroundings.
Architectural joinery
Windows and doors that belong to the building and earn their keep every day.
Mirrors & special projects
The things that start with a difficult idea and need working out at full scale.
From the bench
Share your
woodwork journey.
Everyone arrives at the bench differently. Perhaps you’re just beginning, returning to making after years away, or still finding your way with a favourite tool.
Tell me what you’re working on, what you’ve learned, or what you’re hoping to make next. You’re welcome to include a photograph, too.

Maker first.
Teacher now, too.
I started as a bench joiner and cabinetmaker. Twenty years later I still care about the same things: good proportions, sound construction and understanding why something works.
Since 2021 I’ve taught bench joinery in further education. DovetailTim is where the making, teaching, old tools, restoration and occasional strange idea meet.
